About the Press

Jerusalem and Athens Press

Jerusalem and Athens Press is an independent publishing imprint founded by Lance Kennedy — attorney, former federal prosecutor, U.S. Army Major, and seventh-generation Texan.

The press takes its name from Tertullian’s challenge: “What has Athens to do with Jerusalem?” — and answers that the question itself is the project. The intersection of Greek philosophical inquiry and Judeo-Christian revelation is not a problem to be solved but a territory to be explored. That exploration is what this press exists to publish.

Jerusalem and Athens Press publishes works at the intersection of philosophy, theology, esoteric scholarship, revisionist history, and political theory. Each title is produced to the standard of a serious imprint: careful editing, quality binding, and the expectation that these books will last. The press’s flagship editions are leather-bound — produced in limited runs for readers who understand that a book is not merely a delivery mechanism for information but an object worthy of craft.

What We Publish

The press’s catalog ranges across several domains, united by a commitment to depth, seriousness, and intellectual courage:

  • Political theory — works that take sovereignty, nationhood, and self-governance seriously
  • Theology and comparative religion — studies that engage the Abrahamic traditions with scholarly rigor
  • Esoteric scholarship — explorations of the hidden currents in Western intellectual history
  • Revisionist history — work that challenges received narratives on evidentiary grounds
  • Literary fiction — novels that treat the spiritual and metaphysical dimensions of human experience as real

The Standard

Every title published under the Jerusalem and Athens Press imprint is held to a consistent standard: the text must be worth binding in leather. This is not a metaphor. The press’s premium editions are produced in genuine leather with gilt details, ribbon markers, and archival-quality paper — because the content demands it, and because the readers who seek out this kind of work deserve it.

Standard hardcover, paperback, and ebook editions are also available for each title.
